Ritter Communications Introduces New Automated Home Security System in West Tennessee
A new product from Ritter Communications will allow users to monitor their home, lock their doors, open and close their garage, set their thermostat, control their lights/electronics and more by simply pressing a button or giving a voice command.
Home Security by Ritter featuring the Honeywell Lyric™ Solution is now available in Ritter’s West Tennessee service areas, and the product, which can be controlled by a smartphone or tablet, provides customers with a wireless-connected platform that makes their home safer and smarter.
“We’re following the new wave of home automation,” said Doug Maglothin, Ritter’s Director of Product Development and Management. “Home Security allows customers total control of their homes through this one product, and we think people are going to find its features very appealing.”
Home Security by Ritter offers the advanced functions of most security systems, including security cameras, door and window sensors and glass break sensors. It also gives the user the ability to view camera footage via a smartphone or tablet, and the “doorbell” includes an intercom feature that allows a user to talk to a person who is standing at the door, even if the homeowner is away from the home.
The fully-automated system allows a user to program different features to adjust with a single command. For example, a user can save “night settings” or “morning settings,” and when they go to bed, one verbal command will lock the doors, turn off the lights and reduce the thermostat temperature. When the person wakes up in the morning, they can press a button or give a command to return each function to its daytime setting.
Customers can chose from three packages, starting with the “Monitor” level, which includes the entry security features and is just $40 per month. For $50/month, the “Automate” package adds garage, light and plugin controls, and our $60/month “Control” package includes thermostat control, the doorbell camera, an interior camera and control of one deadbolt lock. Customers have an “a la carte” option to add extra items, such as additional door/window sensors or cameras. Customers must sign a two-year service agreement when they purchase a plan, and there is an installation fee.
